Mock-up Model

Before the chosen leather is touched, a mock-up is made from the pattern: a complete test shoe whose only job is to be worn and judged.

You try it on and walk in it. Fit, volume, the grip at the heel, the break across the joint and the feel of the lacing are all checked against the measurement sheet.

Whatever the fitting reveals is marked on the mock-up and carried back into the last and the pattern. It is always easier to correct a trial shoe than a finished one.
