3D Model
The design taken off the paper and built onto the last.

The chosen design is built in three dimensions directly on your last, using the real measurements rather than a scaled drawing. Tape and pencil lines describe the shoe as it will actually sit on the foot.
Drawings taken from the model capture every fine detail: the sweep of the facing, the exact position of the lace holes, the height of the heel counter, the line where the toe cap breaks.
Seeing the design on the last is also the honest test of it — proportion that looked right flat is corrected here, before any leather is cut.
Building the model
The taped last becomes the drawing surface: every line of the shoe is set out on the form itself, measured, corrected, then lifted off in one piece.
This is where the drawing becomes a shoe.
Nothing is cut before you have seen and approved it.
